Scholarship Application Form

The Architecture Foundation of Oregon (AFO) supports Oregon’s quality of life and creates awareness of our designed environment through education, engagement and inspiration. AFO Scholarships support future design and building professionals and encourage people from diverse backgrounds to participate in the process of designing and building our world.

2024 Scholarships:

AFO awards and administers scholarships for students who are studying design and building professions in Oregon. 

Hatfield Architectural Award: $5,000 scholarship for undergraduate and graduate architecture students attending University of Oregon or Portland State University who express commitment to community service

William Hart Scholarship: $5,000 scholarship for BIPOC Graduate and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) students entering their last year at University of Oregon or Portland State University (graduating in 2025)

Tsagaglalal (She Who Watches) Scholarship: Renewable $10,000 scholarship for Native American, Alaskan Native, and Hawaiian Native non-graduating students pursuing a degree in Art or Architecture at Portland State University

PCC Architecture + Interior Design Scholarship: $5,000 scholarship for first generation students enrolled in Portland Community College's Architectural Design and Drafting or Interior Design degree program. APPLY HERE.

Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the AFO Scholars Reception in spring of 2024 where they will be presented with their awards. The event is attended by members of the architecture/engineering/construction/design community from across the state and celebrates the hard work and accomplishments of the scholars. The recipients will be part of a diverse and engaged community of scholars who now make up some of the most dynamic leaders in the industry.

Please submit this form to be considered for the Hatfield Architectural Award, the William Hart Scholarship, and/or the Tsagaglalal (She Who Watches) Scholarship. Apply for the PCC Architecture + Interior Design Scholarship here. If you plan to apply for more than one AFO scholarship, please do so in a single application submission, do not submit separate applications for each scholarship. You are also welcome to apply for a single scholarship.
